Tomato and Onion Salad Recipe 1/2 Cup Olive Oil 1/4 Cup Wine Vinegar 2 teaspoons garlic (minced) 2 Tablespoons basil (chopped) 2 Tablespoons parsley (chopped) 1/2 Pound of Sliced Tomatoes 1/2 Red Onion Sliced thinly In a large bowl mix together the oil, vinegar, garlic, basil, parsley and a bit of salt and pepper. Whisk for about 2 minutes or until well blended. Place the tomato slices and onions into a bowl and pour the sauce over top and toss gently. Serve as a side dish or a main lunch dish with bread and cheese.

  Sloppy Joe Burger Buns This is an old time well seasoned meat burger  that is delicious and easy to make for quick and warm meals.  It is fast and serves about 6 people.  Sloppy Joe Burger Buns Recipe 1 Pound Ground Beef 1 Onion (diced) 1 can Tomato Soup 1/2 Cup Water 1 Tablespoon Mustard 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper Hamburger Buns In a large fry pan mix the been and onions and cook until all meat is brown. Drain off the fat and stir in the soup, water, mustard, salt and pepper. Simmer these uncovered for about 3 minutes. Toast the buns and fill will the meat mixture. Delicious!

Home Baked B-B-Q Ribs

Home Baked B-B-Q Ribs! One of the most tasty recipes for home baked ribs, easy to make to! Recipe 2 Cups Onions Sliced 1 3/4 Cups Ketchup 1 3/4 Cups Water 1/2 Cup Worcestershire sauce 1/2 Brown Sugar 2 tsp Salt. 4 to 5 pounds of Pork Spareribs  First preheat the oven to 275 F. Then Mix together all the ingredients, blend well. Line a large baking pan with tin foil (2 layers) Pour about 1/2 cup of the sauce on bottom of foiled pan Place ribs into the pan and pour more sauce and Rub meat until completely covered on both sides. Use about 1/2 cup of sauce and reserve the rest in fridge. Wash hands then cover meat with another layer of tin foil Creating a seal. Place ribs into the oven at 275 F for 3 hours After 3 hours take them out and flip over in pan and cover in another 1/2 cup of sauce or remaining sauce and baste. Cover again with foil and put back into oven. Turn oven up to 35O F and bake ribs for another hour. Serve with fresh bread and corn for a wonderful meal!

Easy home baked Biscuits

Simple and Easy home baked Biscuits  can be ready in half an hour! Preheat the oven before beginning to 450 F Biscuits are a great side bread to offer for  breakfast, snacks, lunch or dinner. Biscuit Recipe 2 Cups Flour 3/4 Tablespoon Baking Powder 3/4 teaspoon Salt 1/2 Cup Margarine or Butter 3/4 Cup Milk In a Medium size bowl  Mix  Flour, Baking Powder,  Salt, then add the Margarine and cut it into the flour mixture with a fork,  until it resembles little rice size kernels. Add the milk next, into the middle of the flour mixture,  and mix gently until a small dough ball forms. Put the ball of dough onto a floured counter top  and roll carefully out until 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a knife into small squares or use a  cutter to make small circles (about 12) Place onto an ungreased baking sheet and  bake at 450 F for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Basic White Bread Recipe

Home baked bread is absolutely delicious and fills  up the whole kitchen with the amazing scent of  freshly baked bread out of a hot oven. This is an old recipe that has been used in our home for many years.  It is a standard white bread recipe but you can adjust the types of flour to any you like.  I would recommend half whole wheat to half white. Ingredients: 1 1/4 cup warm water 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar 2 Teaspoons Yeast 3 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine 1 Teaspoon Salt 3 Cups Flour Combine sugar, water and yeast in a large mixing bowl  and let it sit for 10 minutes in a cool, dry place. This is to activate the yeast. After the yeast is activate, add remaining ingredients to the bowl. Mix ingredients together, and form a small ball of dough. Put the dough on a floured counter top and knead for 10 minutes by hand. Place into a large greased bowl, cover and  let rise for 30 minutes or until double in bulk. After it has risen, take dough and put it on counter, punch it down,  then ro

Potato Pancakes are a favorite for many people.  Easy to make and delicious, nice little treat at home! Potato Pancakes Recipe 1/2 Cup Flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp pepper 1 Tbsp onion (finely diced) 1 Egg 1/2 cup milk 2 Tbsp melted butter or margarine 1 3/4 cups of raw potatoes that have been grated after peeled 1 clove garlic In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the milk egg and butter. Stir in the potatoes, garlic and onion. Drop into a hot frying pan that has been well greased, a small spoonful Make all the spoonfuls small and fry the potato pancakes until they are  really golden brown on each side. Amazing with a little sour cream!

Home Made Hamburgers

Home Made Hamburgers! Nothing tastier than a nice juicy cheese burger, made fresh at home. Once you try it, you will love it! Home Made Hamburger Recipe 1 Pound Ground Beef Salt Pepper Buns Toppings In a bowl mix the ground beef, salt and pepper. Form 4 small balls of meat out of the mixture. Place into a hot fry pan and press down to make a small patty. Cook on medium high heat for 5 minutes Flip and Cook another 5 minutes or until juices run clear. Place cooked hamburger patty onto your favorite bun, top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, whatever you enjoy. Especially great with cheddar cheese!

Very spicy chicken dish for a meal to remember!

This is a hot dish but great for those who enjoy hot and spicy food! Try it out and see what you think! The chicken is good with any flat bread or rice. Ingredients 8 pieces of chicken, legs, thighs, etc. 2 garlic cloves (minced) 1 Tbsp. Cumin 1 Tbsp. Paprika 1 Tbsp. Curry powder 2 tsp allspice 2 tsp pepper 1 tsp thyme 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper Cooking Instructions Place all the chicken pieces into a shallow backing dish. Combine all the spices together in a bowl and  then rub the chicken well with the spices. Cover and refrigerate for 2. 5 hours before using. Place chicken into casserole dish,  which has been greased cover with a lid. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes then turn halfway,  and bake another 25 minutes. For extra crispy, take off lid last 10 minutes. Make sure juices are running clear, and meat is cooked before consuming. This is a delicious meal, served with rice, flat bread, curry sauce, veggies, enjoy!

Sourdough Starter Mix

  This is an old recipe for sourdough starter mix. Once made its easy to keep up by adding after use. Store in the fridge once complete. Sourdough Starter Recipe 2 Cups Flour 1 Package active dry yeast 1 Tablespoon sugar 2 Cups warm water Mix in a bowl the flour yeast and sugar, make sure it is a nonmetal bowl. Stir in the water. Cover and let stand in a warm place for 48 hours. It will bubble and expand, make sure the bowl is large. To use , stir it well prior to using,  take out the required amounts and use as directed. Add 1 Cup of flour and 1 Cup of warm water after using. Mix till smooth, let it stand until bubbly, then refrigerate again until next use.

Bran Muffin Recipe 5 Cups Flour 5 teaspoons baking soda 1 Tablespoon salt 2 Cups Brown Sugar 3 Cups Bran 3 Cups Bran Cereal 2 Cups Raisins 1 Cup Applesauce 1/2 Cup Molasses 4 Cups Milk 1 1/4 Cups Water 2 Eggs In a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients together. In the middle of the dry mixture make a small well and add the eggs, milk, molasses, applesauce and water, mixing in from the sides, blend but do not over mix. Preheat oven to 400 F, Grease muffin tins and fill 2/3 full. Bake 20 minutes. Muffins freeze well, makes about 4 dozen.
